What do I need to have to have a successful GM101 Online learning experience?

Browser Requirements

Windows: Internet Explorer 11, Microsoft Edge (latest version), Google Chrome (latest version), Firefox (latest version) 
Mac: Safari (latest version), Google Chrome (latest version), Firefox (latest version) 
Browser pop-up blocker must be disabled 
Javascript must be enabled

Many slides include narration, and a few videos have been included, too, so you may want to use headphones if you’re in a shared space.

Audio transcripts are available for all narrated sections of the course.

Completing the course on a full-sized screen is recommended due to the interactive features and the amount of content on some of the slides.

Course Overview

What is the online version of GM101 like? How does it compare to the in-person workshop?

The content of the two version of the course is the same, but the material is presented in different ways. You can review the course details here.

GM101 Online is a self-paced course that offers the flexibility of completing the five course modules on your schedule, at your convenience. Estimated time for completion of the course is 3 to 4 hours. Subject matter experts narrate some of the content, and interactive elements test your knowledge.  

The full-day workshop offers group discussion opportunities and networking, as well as access to the CONNECT community after the workshop. The workshop is led by one or more presenters who have experience in the different areas that the course covers. 

Both groups have access to an extensive array of resources.


What kinds of resources are available in the course? Will I have access to these after I've completed the course?

GM101 Online includes links to resources from a variety of organizations (such as the IRS and Candid), job aids like checklists and reference documents, and sample documents. You can download the documents and use the links for one year from the date of enrollment. Members who complete the course will receive a badge for their CONNECT profile.


What is the time commitment for GM101 Online?

GM101 Online will take 3 to 4 hours to complete and can be completed over multiple sessions. You will have access to the course and resources indefinitely.


Do I have to pass a test to get credit for the course?

The course includes activities and knowledge checks which are designed to get you thinking and engaged with the material, but there is no testing requirement for the course.


How will I know that I've completed the course?

A printable certificate of completion will be issued when you've completed all five modules in the course. 


How much does the course cost?
